I don’t know about you… but the idea of developing and expanding my Vampiric bloodline during a 700-year historical romp sounds like the most amazing theme EVER! For those of you who know me… I am not the hugest fan of legacy games. BUT, I am making a notable exception for this one!
The thematic integration is on point! 🧛♂️
And… I love the fact that the primary mechanics involves “recruiting” humans into your coven by turning them into part of your vampire brood! Once assimilated, these characters will then help you with your endless scheming (some are public knowledge.. and everyone can grab them… but, fear not, some are private and only you know about their diabolic plots)!
I know… I know… that’s dark. But I LOVE this genre in films and books… sooooo… the chance to play a game that allowed me to build a vampire clutch was just too much to resist! 🧛♂️❤️🎉
I haven’t yet played the full legacy adventure… but I did demo a full chapter of the non-legacy version at Essen Spiel in 2018… and… I loved it! There are a lot of twists and turns to the game play.. but the basics are very straightforward. So, you can jump right in without hours of rules review! This is another win in my book…. since I do my fair share of teaching when my game group gets together! Haha..
Basics of game play – exceptionally basic explanation 😉
- Recruit a new member of your vampire clan (human… or vampire)
- Scheme if you so choose
- Snag a new mission if you think you can make it happen. If you are unable to complete the mission by the end of the game, there are consequences… so be SURE you can get er’ done!
There are also battle grounds involved that affect power (used as a resource in the game) and points (used to win the game… hehe)… but I won’t get into the details of that right now… I have too many new games to get loaded onto the site! Wahhhhhh… Office to say that in any one game there are a handful of battleground boards where players are working to shift things in their favor in an effort to maximize their game play abilities and/or end-game points.
I REALLY like this aspect to the game… as it enhances the decision making. You’re not just recruiting a character to get their specific ability… you’re thinking about how they might influence your ability to dominate on the battle ground boards as well. Layer upon layer of interconnected goodness! LOVE it!

AND… acrylic power and infamy markers, wooden ankh pieces, three KS exclusive expansion boxes, plenty of sweet looking envelopes to open as you make your way through the chronicle, loads of gorgeous battle ground boards, the pre-sleeved character cards (that allow you to easily switch between the character’s human or vampire sides – so sweet)… and plenty of other cards, booklets, etc.
And of course, the metal coins! 😁🎉🥳
Everything is beautifully crafted; and the theme is palpable in every bit of this amazing game!!

I should mention that the one thing he didn’t really like was that most of the schemes were pretty darn cruel. Hehe. For me… this just added to the thematic immersion! After all, I haven’t seen too many kindhearted Vampires. Ironically, the publisher is Nice Game Publishing. I love this!

Thematic resonance is off the charts!
This is an exceptionally well-done Vampire-themed, legacy-style game. Hands down… if you enjoy Vampires.. you will not be disappointed with this one.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Heritage Deluxe KS edition!! Your brood awaits!
In Vampire: The Masquerade – Heritage, you play the role of an ancient vampire. You shape seven hundred years of vampiric and human history in pursuit of ancient secrets, while trying to evade the inquisition and attempting to save what’s left of your humanity.
Heritage is a quick-playing legacy game. Each game, players gather characters from a common pool for their bloodlines. These characters influence different vampiric “battlegrounds” and help in fulfilling history-based missions. For example, a noble-born warrior might support Joan of Arc in ending the siege of Orleans, while at the same time changing the balance of an internal vampiric power struggle or attracting the unwanted attention of the inquisition. Aside from collecting characters in their bloodline, players can also use the unique intrigue cards of the clan they are playing — changing the rules of the game in ways that fit the character of that particular clan.
After any individual game, the players get to collect their achievements in their timeline, which serves as a chronicle of their actions throughout the seven hundred years of history and also influences the final outcome of the campaign.
Additionally, players may turn some mortals into vampires permanently by taking the cards out of their sleeves and turning them around, revealing their vampiric side and giving them new abilities and a name. These get put back in the common pool and can be additionally enhanced in future games. To allow for surprises when embracing mortals, all character cards come pre-sleeved!
In this fashion, players proceed through history as determined by the progression of historic mission cards, unlocking new challenges, characters, and rewards along the way.
Eventually, the seven hundred years will end with a climactic conclusion as players scramble to unravel ancient mysteries using the clues, allies, and power they have gathered throughout the campaign.
