Even briefer Write-Ups phase… dark days of limited rambling ahead! ⛈️🌪️

Hello all! Having recently gotten back from Biloxi for a bit of pre Mardi Gras celebrating… and now getting ready to take off to actual Mardi Gras in New Orleans… I find myself a bit short on time. Yes, dear reader… you have heard me say this repeatedly since the dawn of Upstart… and despite Navy retirement and a much slower pace of existence… I seem to have a knack for creating a world where I am crunched for time. Ha! Clearly my therapist has their work cut out for them!

Sweet Mess: Pastry Competition… the Deluxe Kickstarter Edition!!

Sweet Mess: Pastry Competition started its journey back in 2019 with Big Kid Games… stumbled a bit here and there… was picked up by Fantasia Games… and released just a few months ago! But the rather lengthy wait was well worth it! The final product is a game that’s fun, fast, and furious… but set in a kitchen. Not on the streets of town “x” where the same characters once again save the day by using fast cars. Hehehe. Admittedly I love that franchise… but sometimes I have to shake my head at how many sequels they can squeak out of the basic concept. <sigh>

ANYhoo… the deluxe version of the game brings in upgraded components, as well as player and storage trays for use during game play and when packing up respectively. Consider your recipe… grab your ingredients… bring them over to your pastry bench… use bench tools and kitchen tools to pull it all together… and you’re off to the races!

Ah yes… it’s time for the “Bundle” details!

This Upstart listing is “just” the Deluxe Kickstarter Edition of the game and the metal Golden tokens.

You can visit the original campaign HERE… but please realize that the final game production changed a smidge in order for Fantasia to realistically save the campaign and actually make the game. It might be better to explore the game over at its BGG listing HERE.

With that said, at least swing by the original Kickstarter campaign to check out the review video clip by Tom Vasel! He really enjoyed the game… and I always feel a bit nostalgic when I see him doing the game review personally; since The Dice Tower and the industry has grown quite a bit and he shares the review load with his larger cast of teammates.
