Even briefer Write-Ups phase… dark days of limited rambling ahead! ⛈️🌪️

Hello all! Having recently gotten back from Biloxi for a bit of pre Mardi Gras celebrating… and now getting ready to take off to actual Mardi Gras in New Orleans… I find myself a bit short on time. Yes, dear reader… you have heard me say this repeatedly since the dawn of Upstart… and despite Navy retirement and a much slower pace of existence… I seem to have a knack for creating a world where I am crunched for time. Ha! Clearly my therapist has their work cut out for them!

Doomensions: Pop-Up Mystery Manor… the Deluxe Kickstarter Edition!!

Long before I even knew about the incredible universe of modern tabletop board gaming… Back before I had ever heard of Settlers of Catan, in fact… I knew of the Curious Correspondence Club. Their stuff makes the most AMAZING gifts for friends who are curious by nature. Prior to their journey into the world of tabletop board gaming, they were (and still are) making mystery kits that were simply stellar! Whomever you bestowed this gift upon would get a strange box in the mail.. loaded with handwritten letters and bits of this and that.  Clues, and information to set the stage for the mystery that would unfold over the next few months as additional items, letters, and clues arrived.

The experience was unique and endlessly entertaining! And they put a ton of attention into every little detail. Soooooo… when they announced that they would be creating a pop-up book tabletop game that included similar bits and bobs and such… I KNEW I had to have a copy for myself… and by extension, offer this gem in the shop!

The publisher description of this fun experience is perfect –> “Packed with clippings, foldouts, and other curious ephemera, your case file will guide you through your time at the Manor.”

As the famous movie quote goes, “You had me at ‘curious ephemera…'” 😉
